Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain critical server infrastructure, databases, and applications during the night shift.
- Execute nightly system backups, patch management, and security updates to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues reported by internal stakeholders.
- Perform routine performance tuning and capacity planning for our Houston-based cloud environment.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability scans to protect company data assets.
- Document all system configurations, incidents, and resolutions in the internal knowledge base.
- Collaborate with the day-shift engineering team using asynchronous communication tools.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software engineering or systems administration.
- Must be available to work a night shift schedule (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or similar).
- Proficiency in Python, Java, C#, or Go.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud services.
- Demonstrated ability to start immediately and adapt quickly to new environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
