Responsibilities
- Server & Hardware Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and maintenance of server racks, cabling, and IT hardware to ensure optimal performance.
- Night Operations Monitoring: Monitor system alerts and alarms 24/7, responding immediately to any hardware failures or environmental anomalies.
- Cooling & Power Systems: Conduct regular checks on HVAC units, power distribution units (PDUs), and backup generators to maintain strict environmental standards.
- Incident Response: Execute troubleshooting procedures for network outages or server errors during off-peak hours with minimal supervision.
- Documentation: Accurately update logs and run daily/weekly reports regarding facility health and maintenance activities.
- Security Compliance: Enforce strict physical security protocols, access control, and visitor management procedures during the night shift.
Qualifications
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) with immediate start availability.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in data center operations, IT support, or facilities maintenance.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with server hardware (Dell, HP, Lenovo), Cisco networking basics, and UPS systems is highly preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces or confined environments.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure during outages.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in IT or related field a plus.
