Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Monitoring: Continuously monitor server racks, cooling systems, and power distribution units (PDUs) during night shifts to ensure optimal uptime.
- Maintenance Execution: Perform routine hardware inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Emergency Response: Rapidly respond to alarms, hardware failures, and technical alerts within established SLA guidelines.
- Documentation: Accurately log all system changes, maintenance activities, and incident reports in the CMDB.
- Physical Handling: Assist in cable management, rack and stack operations, and environment control checks.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to safety protocols, environmental standards, and company security procedures.
- Team Support: Collaborate with day-shift teams to transition tasks and ensure seamless continuity of operations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+) are highly preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a data center, server room, or IT support environment is required.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, and navigate tight server aisles.
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting technical issues.
