Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain the environmental integrity of the data center (temperature, humidity, and power redundancy).
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on server racks, cooling systems, and UPS units.
- Execute hardware troubleshooting for network switches, patch panels, and cabling infrastructure.
- Assist in rack and stack operations for new server deployments and hardware upgrades.
- Document all maintenance activities, incidents, and system changes in the CMDB accurately.
- Respond to emergency alerts and outages during the night shift to minimize downtime.
- Conduct physical security rounds and access control verification.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in IT or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in data center operations, IT helpdesk, or network support.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, Subnetting).
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Certification such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ is a plus.
