Responsibilities
- Server Maintenance: Perform routine patch management, security updates, and system backups for Windows and Linux servers to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Incident Management: Monitor system alerts and troubleshoot critical technical issues during the weekend shift to minimize downtime.
- Network Monitoring: Analyze network traffic and performance metrics to proactively identify potential bottlenecks or security threats.
- Access Control: Manage user accounts, permissions, and Active Directory security policies for remote and on-site staff.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed technical logs and runbooks to facilitate knowledge transfer and future maintenance.
- Hardware Support: Assist in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware peripherals and workstations.
- Emergency Response: Respond to and resolve critical system failures with a focus on speed and precision.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in system administration or IT support roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/CentOS), Active Directory, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating or fixed schedule.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting technical issues to the on-call team.
- Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting mindset and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
