Apex Infrastructure Solutions is looking for a Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join our high-availability team in Washington, DC. As a NOC Engineer on our night shift, you will act as the first line of defense for network stability, security monitoring, and incident resolution. Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic, servers, and hardware performance in real-time during night operations.
- Execute proactive maintenance tasks to prevent system downtime and outages.
- Respond to and troubleshoot critical alerts and incidents within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Document system configurations, incidents, and resolutions in our ticketing system (ServiceNow/Jira).
- Collaborate with day-shift engineering teams to hand over status reports and unresolved issues.
- Conduct routine security scans and vulnerability assessments during off-peak hours.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior leadership or third-party vendors when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Network Operations, NOC, or System Administration.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or Splunk.
- Availability to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a low-light environment.
