Responsibilities
- Take patient vital signs and prepare medical histories for examinations
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and diagnostic tests
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Sterilize equipment and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked
- Coordinate patient scheduling and manage administrative workflows
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical protocols
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask efficiently
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional weekends
- Valid CPR certification and New Mexico medical assistant license
