Responsibilities
- Lead horizon scanning and trend analysis across emerging technologies (AI, quantum, biotech, sustainable systems) to identify disruptive opportunities
- Develop and maintain 5-year innovation roadmaps aligned with company strategic objectives
- Architect and execute proof-of-concept projects for breakthrough technologies with $500K+ budgets
- Collaborate with product teams to integrate future-facing innovations into commercial roadmaps
- Present strategic insights to executive leadership and board members through compelling narratives
- Build and manage a global network of futurists, academics, and industry pioneers
- Lead cross-functional innovation sprints to prototype solutions for 2026 market demands
Qualifications
- 10+ years in innovation strategy, R&D leadership, or futurism with proven track record of commercializing emerging technologies
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or Futurism (PhD preferred)
- Expertise in at least two emerging tech domains: AI/ML, quantum computing, synthetic biology, or climate tech
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across technology, business, and design disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into executable business strategies
- Published thought leadership in futurism or innovation (white papers, patents, or industry keynotes)
- Proficiency in strategic foresight methodologies (scenario planning, Delphi, horizon scanning)
