Responsibilities
- Architect Governance Frameworks: Develop and enforce comprehensive AI ethics policies that align with global standards and upcoming regulations (such as the EU AI Act and future US federal mandates).
- Conduct Impact Assessments: Lead rigorous fairness, bias, and transparency audits for all proprietary machine learning models to ensure equitable outcomes.
- Strategic Compliance: Navigate the complex regulatory landscape to ensure Nexus Horizon remains compliant across all operational regions, anticipating shifts before they happen.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work directly with product teams and R&D to embed ethical considerations into the development lifecycle (Design Thinking & Agile).
- Education & Training: Create and deliver training programs to raise AI literacy and ethical awareness across the entire organization.
- Incident Response: Lead the response strategy for any ethical breaches or algorithmic failures.
Qualifications
- Education: Advanced degree (JD, MSc, or PhD) in Law, Computer Science, Philosophy, or Public Policy, with a focus on technology ethics and policy.
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or ethics within the tech industry, preferably with a focus on AI/ML.
- Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of machine learning concepts, data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA), and algorithmic bias mitigation techniques.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to anticipate regulatory shifts and translate them into actionable business strategies and technical requirements.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical and legal concepts for diverse audiences, from engineers to board members.
