Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop quantum error correction protocols to enhance system stability
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum processor architectures
- Lead research publications in top-tier quantum computing journals and conferences
- Manage quantum computing testbeds and validate experimental results
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to strategic R&D roadmaps
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, etc.)
- Strong background in quantum information theory and fault tolerance
- Publication record in peer-reviewed quantum computing literature
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and mathematical rigor
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams with physicists and engineers
