Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum circuit performance on superconducting platforms
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy protocols using IBM, Google, and proprietary systems
- Develop error-correction frameworks for fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Author peer-reviewed publications and present findings at top-tier conferences (QIP, APS March Meeting)
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional AI/ML teams on quantum integration
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in linear algebra, probability theory, and quantum mechanics fundamentals
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments (HPC, cloud-based quantum simulators)
- Strong track record of interdisciplinary collaboration with computer scientists and engineers
- Experience with quantum hardware calibration and noise mitigation techniques
