Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at 4K mK temperatures
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Secure $5M+ in government and industry grants for quantum initiatives
- Drive patent development for proprietary quantum architectures
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Proficiency with cryogenic quantum hardware operations
- Strong background in quantum error correction and topological qubits
- Experience securing NSF/DARPA research funding
