Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Monitoring: Oversee system performance, uptime, and health during the night shift to ensure zero downtime for our clients.
- Incident Response: Rapidly troubleshoot and resolve critical technical issues that arise during off-hours, utilizing remote access tools and diagnostic scripts.
- Deployment Management: Execute scheduled code deployments, database backups, and patch management without disrupting day operations.
- Code Optimization: Review and refactor legacy code to improve performance, security, and maintainability during quiet periods.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of system changes, incidents, and resolutions for the night shift handover report.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the day shift team via chat and email to align on priorities and upcoming releases.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a preference for candidates willing to work night shifts (6:00 PM - 2:00 AM or similar).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Java, or C#, and experience with AWS or Azure cloud services.
- OS Knowledge: Strong command of Linux or Unix command line interfaces.
