Responsibilities
- Shape Global AI Standards: Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive AI ethics policies, ensuring compliance with emerging 2026 global regulations and safety standards.
- Regulatory Strategy: Analyze legislative trends and government proposals to navigate the complex landscape of AI governance, providing proactive strategic counsel to the leadership team.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between Nexus Horizon and external bodies, including government agencies, industry consortia, and civil society groups regarding AI safety and ethics.
- Internal Advocacy: Educate internal R&D teams on policy implications, ensuring technical innovations align with our ethical mission and long-term societal goals.
- Risk Management: Identify potential ethical risks and compliance gaps in new AI deployments and design mitigation strategies to prevent unintended consequences.
Qualifications
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Computer Science, Ethics, or a related field, with a focus on technology law.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, or legal counsel within the technology sector, specifically regarding AI or emerging tech.
- Strategic Insight: Proven track record of influencing policy debates and developing governance frameworks for complex, high-stakes technologies.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex legal and technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Future-Forward Mindset: Deep understanding of the trajectory of AI development (including Generative and Predictive models) and the societal implications of AGI.
