Responsibilities
- Lead horizon-scanning initiatives to identify emerging technologies and market shifts impacting 2026+ business landscapes
- Develop strategic roadmaps integrating AI, quantum computing, and biotechnology into core business operations
- Champion innovation workshops with R&D, product, and engineering teams to prototype future solutions
- Analyze global tech policy and ethical frameworks to ensure responsible innovation practices
- Present future scenarios to investors and board members to secure funding for strategic initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with academic institutions, government labs, and industry disruptors
- Mentor junior futurists and lead cross-functional 'Future Task Forces' for rapid prototyping
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Technology Forecasting, Futures Studies, Strategic Innovation, or related field
- 7+ years experience in strategic foresight, innovation consulting, or R&D leadership
- Proven track record of successfully predicting and capitalizing on tech trends (portfolio required)
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging tech domains: quantum computing, AI ethics, neurotech, or climate tech
- Exceptional data visualization and storytelling skills for complex future scenarios
- Certification in futures research methodologies (e.g., Delphi, Horizon Scanning)
- Experience presenting to C-suite and securing multi-million dollar innovation budgets
