Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including vital signs, injections, and wound care
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic health documentation
- Prepare exam rooms and medical equipment for weekend patient flow
- Coordinate patient scheduling and telehealth appointments
- Administer medications and treatments under physician supervision
- Ensure strict HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Current Texas Medical Assistant certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Ability to work Saturdays and Sundays with rotating holidays
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills for diverse patient interactions
- Flexibility to cover additional shifts during staffing shortages
