Responsibilities
- Perform complex diagnostic tests on blood, tissue, and bodily fluids with 99.9% accuracy
- Operate and calibrate state-of-the-art laboratory equipment (HPLC, mass spectrometers, PCR)
- Urgent STAT sample processing for emergency department and ICU patients
- Maintain strict compliance with CAP, CLIA, and OSHA regulations
- Train junior technicians on advanced laboratory protocols
- Document results in Epic EMR system with real-time physician collaboration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field (ASCP certification required)
- Minimum 2 years night shift experience in high-volume hospital lab
- Expertise in microbiology, chemistry, and hematology departments
- Proven ability to maintain composure during critical situations
- Valid NY State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license
- Advanced certification (e.g., MLS, MT) preferred
