Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Administer medications and injections per physician protocols
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and point-of-care testing
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Triage patients and prioritize urgent cases during night hours
- Prepare exam rooms and sterilize medical equipment
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and discharge instructions
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year urgent care or emergency department experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- NYC State medical assistant license
