Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum systems using cryogenic hardware and microwave control systems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international quantum computing conferences
- Secure federal and private research funding through compelling proposal development
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum engineering interns
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field (required)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing journals
- Proficiency with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q Experience, Rigetti, D-Wave)
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex analysis, and information theory
- Experience securing NSF or DOE research grants preferred
- Security clearance eligibility required
