Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Conduct experimental research on quantum hardware systems including superconducting qubits and ion traps
- Develop error correction protocols to enhance quantum system stability and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions into enterprise workflows
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure research funding through government grants and private partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency with low-level hardware control and cryogenic systems
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complex analysis
- Experience securing federal research grants (NSF, DOE, DARPA)
- Track record of interdisciplinary collaboration with engineering and product teams
