Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning
- Lead experimental research on quantum hardware systems including superconducting qubits and ion traps
- Develop error-correction protocols to advance quantum coherence beyond 2026 benchmarks
- Collaborate with AI teams to integrate quantum-classical hybrid computing frameworks
- Secure multi-million dollar research grants through DARPA and NSF initiatives
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and publish 3+ high-impact papers annually
- Contribute to open-source quantum computing libraries (Qiskit, Cirq)
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with published peer-reviewed papers
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil) and classical Python/C++
