Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy protocols using 100+ qubit processors
- Develop error-correction frameworks to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors with enhanced coherence times
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $5M+ in DARPA/NSF grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates and build next-gen quantum talent pipeline
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Computational Mathematics from R1 institution
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development with trapped-ion/superconducting qubits
- Published work in top-tier quantum computing journals (Physical Review X, Quantum)
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum machine learning frameworks
- Proven track record of securing federal research grants (DARPA/NSF preferred)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and topological quantum computing
- Experience with quantum hardware integration and low-level control systems
