Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing prototypes in cryogenic environments
- Collaborate with hardware teams to mitigate quantum decoherence challenges
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and present at quantum computing conferences
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant computing systems
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent portfolios
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, or Cirq)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Proficiency with quantum circuit design and simulation tools
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complex analysis
- Experience with low-level quantum hardware interfaces
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding (>500K in grants)
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for facility access
