Responsibilities
- Design scalable quantum computing architectures using superconducting and photonic systems
- Develop quantum algorithms for machine learning optimization and cryptography breakthroughs
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and engineers to prototype quantum hardware
- Collaborate with government and enterprise partners on national quantum initiatives
- Research and implement error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Drive patent strategy for novel quantum computing methodologies
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum physics and computational theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven track record in quantum algorithm development (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant system design
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum computing
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in cryogenic engineering and photonic systems
- Experience with high-performance computing architectures (HPC)
- Security clearance or ability to obtain for government projects
