Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including vitals assessment, injections, wound care, and ECG monitoring
- Accurately maintain electronic health records (EHR) using Epic systems
- Assist physicians with minor procedures and diagnostic testing
- Coordinate patient flow and triage during overnight hours
- Administer medications and IV therapies under physician supervision
- Handle emergency situations with calm professionalism and adherence to protocols
- Collaborate with night nursing staff and cross-departmental teams
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- BLS/CPR certification required (ACLS preferred)
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic experience highly valued)
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail in documentation and patient safety protocols
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient volumes and acuity levels
- Valid DC healthcare provider license
