Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and vital sign measurements
- Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR)
- Prepare lab specimens and perform basic tests
- Schedule follow-up appointments and patient education
- Ensure clinic compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Medent, or similar)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends
- Valid Louisiana medical assistant license
