Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic tests
- Accurately measure and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient data
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations under provider supervision
- Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and manage electronic health records
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Collaborate with nursing and specialist teams to ensure seamless care delivery
Qualifications
- Active California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in emergency or urgent care setting
- BLS/CPR certification and phlebotomy skills required
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse populations
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced weekend environments
- Flexibility to cover 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm) on Saturdays and Sundays
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to HIPAA compliance
