Job Description
We are seeking a visionary Senior Data Scientist to join our elite engineering team in San Francisco. As a leader in the fintech space, Nexus Tech leverages cutting-edge data to drive decision-making and automate complex financial workflows. You will own the end-to-end data science lifecycle, from exploratory data analysis to model deployment at scale, directly impacting our bottom line.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate business problems into robust machine learning solutions. You will be responsible for building scalable models, optimizing algorithms, and mentoring junior data scientists in best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models and statistical algorithms to solve complex business problems.
- Perform extensive exploratory data analysis (EDA) and feature engineering on large, high-velocity datasets.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate predictive models into production systems and APIs.
- Conduct rigorous A/B testing and model evaluation to measure performance and iterate on improvements.
- Communicate complex findings and model insights to non-technical stakeholders through clear documentation and visualizations.
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the technical vision of the data science team.
- Stay current with the latest research in machine learning, deep learning, and AI.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn) and SQL.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and large language models (LLMs).
- Experience deploying models on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Proven track record of working with unstructured data (NLP, Text Mining).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences.
