Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems in machine learning and cryptography
- Develop error-corrected qubit architectures using superconducting and photonic systems
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and engineers in prototype development
- Secure $2M+ in research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private foundations
- Publish findings in Nature Physics and IEEE journals with 5+ annual citations
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science programs
- Collaborate with Fortune 500 partners to commercialize quantum applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation tools
- Track record of securing government research funding ($1M+)
- Deep understanding of quantum entanglement phenomena at sub-Kelvin temperatures
- Experience leading international research consortia and managing R&D budgets
