Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bridge quantum software-hardware integration gaps
- Develop proprietary quantum machine learning frameworks for predictive analytics
- Secure federal and private research grants ($5M+ target annually)
- Present breakthroughs at IEEE Quantum Week and ACM Quantum Computing Summit
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development (Qiskit/Cirq experience required)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Expertise in machine learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow) for quantum applications
- Proficiency in low-level quantum hardware programming (OpenQASM, QASM)
- Track record of securing competitive research grants (NSF/DARPA preferred)
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation techniques
