Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for NISQ-era processors and fault-tolerant systems
- Design and execute experiments on superconducting and photonic quantum platforms
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum error correction protocols
- Develop novel applications in quantum machine learning and cryptography
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.) and present at IEEE conferences
- Mentor PhD researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure federal and industry grants for quantum computing initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum simulation frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Quil)
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in quantum computing
- Experience with low-level quantum hardware control systems (QCCD, RF pulse engineering)
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex systems, and statistical mechanics
