Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at 4K temperatures
- Collaborate with AI teams to integrate quantum-classical hybrid workflows
- Publish 2+ peer-reviewed papers annually and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Secure $500K+ in annual R&D funding through grant proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, or Qiskit)
- Published research in quantum error correction or variational algorithms
- Proficiency in quantum circuit design and tomography techniques
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Experience with superconducting qubit or ion-trap systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure NSF or DoD quantum research grants
- Preferred: Certification in quantum machine learning frameworks
