Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum algorithms for optimization problems in finance, logistics, and pharmaceuticals
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize qubit coherence times and gate fidelities
- Publish groundbreaking research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Lead cross-functional projects with AI and cybersecurity divisions
- Secure $2M+ in DoE/NIST grants for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates and manage quantum computing interns
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals (minimum 5 peer-reviewed papers)
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Experience with superconducting qubits or trapped ion systems
- Strong Python/C++ programming skills with HPC optimization experience
- Track record of translating theoretical models into experimental prototypes
- Security clearance eligibility preferred for government contract work
