Responsibilities
- Architect quantum computing roadmaps targeting 2026 commercial viability milestones
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams in quantum error correction and algorithm optimization
- Develop strategic partnerships with quantum hardware manufacturers and cloud providers
- Secure and manage $5M+ in government and private quantum research grants
- Translate quantum research into patentable IP and commercial applications
- Mentor PhD-level researchers and publish in Nature/Science journals
- Represent Nexus at global quantum summits and standards committees
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years of R&D experience
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction (20+ citations)
- Proven track record of securing federal grants (NSF, DOE, DARPA)
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation frameworks
- Experience leading teams of 10+ scientists/engineers in high-stakes projects
- Deep understanding of quantum supremacy benchmarks and hardware limitations
- Strong network within academic and industrial quantum ecosystems
