Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum algorithms for cryptography and optimization
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals with industry applications
- Manage $5M+ R&D budget for quantum hardware prototyping
- Present findings to federal agencies (DARPA, NSF) and Fortune 500 partners
- Mentor PhD researchers in quantum information theory
- Drive commercialization of quantum solutions for logistics and drug discovery
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years experience in quantum computing research with peer-reviewed publications
- Expertise in superconducting qubit architectures or topological quantum computing
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Track record of securing government grants (NSF, DOE) or corporate partnerships
- Strong background in cryogenic systems and microwave engineering
- Experience leading research teams of 10+ scientists
