Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead a team of 8+ quantum physicists and software engineers in cutting-edge research initiatives
- Develop novel error-correction techniques to achieve fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Partner with NASA, IBM, and MIT on quantum-adjacent space exploration and AI projects
- Secure $5M+ in government grants and private funding for 2026 quantum roadmap
- Present findings at Nature/Science publications and IEEE Quantum Week
- Drive quantum literacy through internal workshops and industry thought leadership
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development on platforms like IBM Q or Rigetti
- Publication record in top-tier quantum journals (Nature Quantum, PRL Quantum)
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC, color codes)
- Experience securing NSF/DoE grants ($1M+ preferred)
- Proficiency in Python, Qiskit, and Cirq with classical-quantum hybrid systems
- Proven ability to lead technical teams through ambiguous research challenges
