Responsibilities
- Assign ICD-10 and CPT Codes: Accurately translate medical records into standardized codes for billing purposes.
- Review Medical Records: Analyze physician notes and reports to extract necessary clinical data.
- Compliance Auditing: Ensure all coding practices adhere to current healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
- Data Entry: Maintain and update patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system with high precision.
- Issue Resolution: Work with billing teams to resolve claim denials and discrepancies efficiently.
Qualifications
- Certification: CPC, CCS, or RHIT certification preferred (RHIA accepted).
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) and coding software.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and maintain high accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours and start immediately.
