Job Description
Are you ready to define the future of Artificial Intelligence? Zai Future Labs is seeking a visionary Lead Architect to spearhead the development of scalable, agentic AI systems designed for the year 2026 and beyond. If you thrive at the intersection of cutting-edge research and production-grade engineering, this is your opportunity to shape the infrastructure of tomorrow.
In this role, you will move beyond traditional machine learning models to build autonomous agents, multimodal reasoning systems, and next-generation Large Language Model (LLM) architectures. You will work with a world-class team to solve complex problems in reasoning, memory, and human-AI collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Architect Next-Gen Systems: Design and implement robust, scalable architectures for autonomous AI agents and multimodal models.
- LLM Optimization: Lead research and implementation of advanced fine-tuning and alignment techniques (RLHF, DPO) for superior reasoning capabilities.
- MLOps Infrastructure: Build and maintain high-performance pipelines for training, evaluation, and deployment of large-scale models.
- Evaluation Frameworks: Develop rigorous, automated evaluation benchmarks to measure model performance against 2026 industry standards.
- Technical Strategy: Translate abstract research goals into concrete technical roadmaps and architectural decisions.
- Team Leadership: Mentor senior engineers and researchers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Qualifications
- Education: PhD or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with a strong background in Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing.
- Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and distributed computing frameworks (Ray, Spark).
- Research: Proven track record of publishing in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ACL) or significant contributions to open-source ML libraries.
- System Design: Deep understanding of vector databases, prompt engineering, and agent-based architectures.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive technical vision from concept to production.
