Responsibilities
- Lead research initiatives in neural network optimization and transfer learning
- Develop novel algorithms for multimodal AI systems processing text, vision, and sensor data
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR)
- Mentor PhD-level researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from DARPA and NSF
- Architect ethical AI frameworks aligned with EU AI Act guidelines
- Collaborate with product teams to commercialize research within 18-month cycles
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with 3+ years industry experience
- Proven track record publishing in top-tier ML/AI conferences (h-index >15)
- Expertise in PyTorch/TensorFlow and distributed training frameworks
- Strong background in reinforcement learning and generative models
- Experience with MLOps pipelines and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional research teams
- Portfolio of open-source contributions with >1K GitHub stars
- Strong communicator capable of explaining complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
