Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional research on emerging technologies (quantum computing, neural interfaces, synthetic biology)
- Develop and maintain the 2026 Technology Roadmap with quarterly strategic pivots
- Partner with product teams to integrate future-forward capabilities into commercial products
- Author visionary whitepapers and thought leadership for industry conferences
- Manage $5M+ annual innovation budget for prototype development
- Mentor junior researchers in foresight methodologies and trend analysis
- Establish partnerships with MIT Media Lab, Singularity University, and other innovation hubs
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or Futurist Studies (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years in technology R&D with 5+ years in strategic foresight roles
- Published research in IEEE Nature or peer-reviewed futurist journals
- Expertise in scenario planning and technology impact assessment frameworks
- Deep knowledge of quantum computing, AI ethics, and biotech convergence
- Proven track record of launching commercialized innovations
- Exceptional communication skills for executive and technical audiences
- Portfolio of 2020-2025 technology predictions with 80%+ accuracy
